Club Stories
On Monday, May 1, 2017 Brian Carrier from Buffalo Computer Graphics and Kenneth Turner, Chief Development Officer for the WNY region of American Red Cross, will discuss how their perspective companies train, educate and prepare organizations to respond to any emergency. Brian Carrier will share how their companies' new software drives the NYS Alert system. Buffalo Computer Graphics has aided in other natural disasters - Hurricane Sandy and the largest forest fire in Canadian history that burned throughout 600,000 acres. In addition, Kenneth Turner will discuss what happens when the Red Cross opens a relief center as a result of a man-made or natural disaster.

Everyone is welcome to join us for this important meeting! Listen and learn how you can help in the community-wide effort of emergency response management. This meeting will take place Monday, May 1, 2017 at 5pm on the 5th floor of the Gates Vascular Institute.
BNMC Rotary welcomed Dr. Ephraim Atwal and Karen Anthone from the Eyes on America Foundation. Eyes on America is a not-for-profit agency, started by Dr. Kenneth Anthone, to give back to WNY and nationwide. The Foundation sponsors "Mission Cataract Day" to donate free surgeries to those in need. This year, the Foundation anticipates conducting nearly 100 surgeries on Mission Cataract Day to those would not be able to afford the surgery, uninsured, veterans, immigrants and refugees. Soon, Dr. Ephraim and Karen Anthose will embark on a mission trip to travel to Sierra Leone to host a free eye clinic and perform cataract surgeries.
