We wanted to share some of this important info from Monday's meeting!
First, we had an awesome presentation from Barbara Rowe of Vision Niagara, which specifically means Niagara Street. They are committed to developing green space along the west side and BlackRock neighborhoods working in concert with UB Architecture/Planning and local developers. . Thank you Ms. Rowe!

The news items we wanted to share:

We had five potential members with us last night!  Sue Czerny, Tyrone and Naomi Goodson, Richard Capote and Dan Galante. Another thanks to all who helped make the new member social a very productive event! We'll keep sending reminders to all our guests and will include them in our general bulletin mailings as well.
On Thursday Dec 1, our UB Rotaract Club is hosting their 2nd annual open mike fundraiser. The event will be at Davis Hall, right next to the bookstore after dinner. A flyer was sent out under separate cover.
NEXT WEEK'S MEETING  is a perfect opportunity to bring a guest along to hear our guest speaker, David Colligan from the Ralph Wilson Foundation. You may have already received an email with an intro.
Our Club's Holiday Party is scheduled for December 12th at Kenmore Lanes, 5:30 to 8:30 pm.  Another great opportunity to bring a spouse or friend to hang out with your Rotary gang! If  you will be attending, please visit the events calendar on our website here, and register so we can get a head count. Alternatively, when you visit the website, you can click on the Holiday Bowling Party in the left hand margin EVENTS section and register.

Our club will be staffing the Salvation Army kettle at Galleria Mall on Saturday December 17th, from 10am-9pm. Andrea Wahl is our coordinator, and you can sign up via ClubRunner via the Events Calendar  as above.  There will be four 2 hour shifts and one 3 hour shift, the last 6-9. Please note which shift you can take. This registration is in schedule format, so you will be able to pick your time slot. Thank you!

In addition to all this fellowship, giving and enlightening guests,  we are entering the seasonal big push of our club to its main fundraiser,  the Chili-Cook Off! Mike and Wendy report we already have two teams signed up, and they may have coerced a third from Ulrich's Monday evening. While we are starting to push the event on social media, the best promotion is still word of mouth from each one of you.

Wendy, Mike, and all of us ask each of you to make a few appeals to either potential cooking teams, or corporate sponsors. For the sponsorships, please inform Mike Baritot of your intentions so that we do not approach the same businesses twice. We are also looking for members to visit other Rotary clubs to promote the event and hopefully get some Rotary teams and chili eaters! President Elect Andrea has that sign up list.

This event will take "all hands on deck" to achieve our fund raising goals, so we ask each one of you to make a "pitch"!  Promo materials, sponsorship packets etc, are available from Wendy, Mike B, Andrea S or at our Monday meetings. Mike Woods is coordinating the basket raffles and silent auction. Please help Mike W by getting some merch together or building a themed basket.

Once again, you can now register to volunteer or sign up directly off our ClubRunner website. If you go to our website, click on events, and then calendar of events from the drop down menu, you can dial up the month, click on the event, and register to volunteer right there. Alternatively, you can click on the events as they appear on the left hand margin of the website, which will take you directly to a registration page.  For now, all registration is "members only", but you can always include guests.  You are encouraged to leave a note if you need to specify something to the event chair. The chairs for the event will be notified automatically, and you will get a confirmation email from ClubRunner.

We hope the use of the website and ClubRunner's functionality helps us coordinate and organize more effectively,  so more of our time and  effort can be spend on results! It also assists members who cannot make the Monday meetings consistently to electronically register for events, send the event chairs a note, and gives an opportunity to "touch the wheel" of Rotary from their desktops.

Thank you for all you do for our club and our community!

Yours in Rotary,
BNMC Rotary
